Justification: Why do we Need it? How do we Get it? And What is it?

The doctrine of justification is one which, though mentioned frequently, is often not explained nor given the attention that it deserves. How is it that sinful man can stand justified and blameless before a holy God, and what do we mean when we ask that question? In this show host Sam Welbaum, and panelists Bruce Palozzi, Kurt Blake and Derek Brover address these questions. The panel begins by explaining sin and the atonement and then moves into a discussion of the Protestant and Catholic understandings of justification and ends the show with a discussion on the New Perspective on Paul. Bruce is a fan of the New Perspective and the discussion is instructive in helping to learn what the New Perspective is attempting to say about justification and how its understanding differs from historic Protestantism.
Sam Welbaum is the Director of Radio and Events at Apologetics.com and is one of the hosts of the Apologetics.com radio show. Sam also serves as the Young Adults Director at Shoreline Baptist Church in Fountain Valley, California.
