Sam Welbaum's interest in apologetics started early in life when his Mom told him that "You have to know both sides of an issue in order to understand it." He took it to heart and made the "Compact Guide to World Religions" is silent reading book in 6th grade (unless it was Fridays, in which case it was either X-Men or Batman). His interest continued through High School when he got involved in counter cult ministries and started working at the Christian Research Institute. From there he went on to study Philosophy and Christian Studies at California Baptist University. He presently holds an MA in Christian Apologetics from Biola University, a Masters of Theological Studies from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary and is working on PhD in Philosophy of Religion and Theology at Claremont Graduate University.
In addition to serving with Apologetics.com, Sam is presently the Youth Pastor at Shoreline Baptist Church in Fountain Valley, California and a prep school teacher. In the past he has had the pleasure of teaching both philosophy and Koine Greek at the college level, and looks forward to teaching at that level again soon. In his spare time Sam likes to play board games, discover new hot sauces, watch a comedy or two....and still read Batman and X-Men comic books.
